Nehru and Lohia: New-Age Socialist Icons for New India! 

Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia remain two powerful socialist voices whose ideas can inspire the making of a more just, democratic and inclusive New India. Nehru’s commitment to scientific temper, modern institutions, secular democracy and economic planning, alongside Lohia’s uncompromising advocacy of social equality, decentralisation, dignity of the marginalised and justice for the deprived, offers a meaningful ideological bridge between India’s foundational values and its contemporary aspirations. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia - Genesis of Indian Socialism & Economic Management!  Dr. Lohia created an ethical political system of services rendered both pre and post independence. His thoughts on socialism were to create an Indian version of socialist economy. His quest for equality and fraternity called for all round development of the state and its people.  An LU academic document on Dr. Lohia said- "A democrat by conviction socialism appealed to Lohia as a way of life.
